County working on possible lease for Rockhouse property

The county is working with the owners of the Rockhouse property in Creelsboro to obtain a lease for the historic Russell County property.

The Rockhouse property has been in the Goff family for generations. Russell County Judge-Executive Randy Marcum said he’s been in discussions with members of the Goff family about obtaining a lease for the property with plans to turn the area into a nature park while also ensuring the preservation of the area.

Marcum said the property has long been a popular place to visit and would be a great addition for the county.

One of the key points in the acquisition would be accessibility, making the area more accessible for people to get to.

Marcum spoke about the Rockhouse lease on Community Conversation on WJRS yesterday. The full interview can be found online at lakercountry.com and most major podcast platforms.
