Lakers take first place in East Jessamine Holiday Tournament

The Laker Basketball team took first place in the East Jessamine Holiday Tournament yesterday. \

The Lakers defeated Bullitt East in the tournament championship by a score of 66-61.

Bryson Irvin led Russell County in scoring in the game with 21 points. Dylan Stanelle scored 15 and Maddox Shearer scored 13.

The Lakers defeated McCreary Central earlier in the day in the semifinals by a score of 73-65.

Shearer led Russell County in that one with 20 points in the win, followed by Stanelle with 18 points and Cameron Bolin with 11.

Shearer, Stanelle, and Irvin were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Lakers return to action Friday night, going on the road for a district matchup with Monroe County.
