It’s been a long process with multiple delays, but Russell County Hospital CEO Scott Thompson said site and foundation work for the hospital’s expansion project is expected to begin soon.
The hospital is expected to open bids for subcontractors today, a milestone in the project Thompson says he is celebrating.
The new expansion will nearly double the size of the hospital with a new emergency room, new equipment, a new registration space, more office space, and more parking, among many other improvements.
