Laker Band finishes 1st at regionals over the weekend, will compete in semifinals next weekend

The Laker Band earned a first-place finish in the Class AAA East Regional at South Laurel over the weekend.

Russell County took first place, Adair County finished second, and Garrard County finished third.

Highlands, North Oldham, and Boyle County rounded out the top six that will advance to the AAA state semifinals this coming weekend.

The Class AAA semifinals will take place at Warren East High School.

12 bands are scheduled to compete in the semifinals with the top 6 advancing to the finals that evening at Western Kentucky University.
