Indiana man charged with vehicular homicide following reported fatal accident in Cumberland County Thursday night

An Indiana man was arrested following a fatal accident in Cumberland County Thursday night.

According to Kentucky State Police, 66-year-old Ronald Huser of Lebanon, Indiana was traveling on KY 485 near the Sulpher Creek Marina parking lot entrance in a 2014 Ram 2500. Huser lost control of his vehicle and exited the right side of the roadway, traveled over a steep embankment and struck a tree.

A passenger in his vehicle, 65-year-old Douglas Johnson, also of Lebanon, Indiana, was transported from the scene to Cumberland County Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased by the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office. Another passenger, identified as 38-year-old Mallory Larson of Lebanon, Indiana, was transported to the Cumberland County Hospital and later flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries. 

Huser is charged with vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol, assault first degree, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail early Friday morning.

Senior Trooper Trevor High with Kentucky State Police Post 15 is investigating the collision.
