Substitute teachers covering the same classroom for extended periods of time will see an increase in pay following a unanimous decision by the Russell County Board of Education last night.
Superintendent Michael Ford presented the board with a plan last night that would double the compensation for these particular substitute teachers. That plan was unanimously approved by the board.
Ford shared more details about the plan with WJRS News.
Ford said he hopes this move will expand the pool of substitute teachers for the district and adequately compensates those substitute teachers covering the same classroom for an extended period of time.
