Russell Springs man arrested on drug trafficking charges

A Russell Springs man was arrested on drug trafficking charges last night.

Kentucky State Police say 38-year-old Buddy Tyler Bernard was arrested and charged with trafficking in more than 2 grams of methamphetamine, trafficking in marijuana more than 8 ounces but less than 5 pounds, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

State Police say troopers were working with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office to locate a wanted male at a residence on Briar Patch Road off Clear Springs Road. When they arrived at the residence, several individuals were standing around a vehicle. State Police say there was an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A search revealed methamphetamine and marijuana in the vehicle, along with drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash. State Police say the approximate street value of the drugs seized from the vehicle was $25,000.

Bernard was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center just after 8:30 last night.
