Today, we wrap up our series on The Big Beautiful Bill and its impact on Russell County Hospital.
Hospital CEO Scott Thompson has told WJRS News he does not project layoffs or cuts to hospital services as part of the bill’s cuts to Medicaid and the Hospital Rate Improvement Program.
Thompson said despite the cuts, the hospital will continue to look for ways to grow and other means to bring in revenue.
The cuts to the Hospital Rate Improvement Program are expected to begin in 2028, according to Thompson.
