Most power outages in the South Kentucky RECC area have been restored.
In total, South Kentucky RECC is reporting just under 300 outages in the area, with 17 in Russell County, nearly 250 in Pulaski County, and about 20 in McCreary County.
At its peak following the tornado this past weekend, the local electric cooperative believes it had more than 20,000 outages across the service area.
Morghan Blevins with South Kentucky RECC credited the hard work and determination of South Kentucky RECC linemen and many mutual aid crews who came in to assist for restoring power so quickly.
The South Kentucky RECC command center in Somerset was heavily damaged by the tornado.
