University of Kentucky Baseball team helps clean up tornado damage locally

The University of Kentucky Baseball team was on its way back from the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama yesterday but made a stop in Russell County on the way.

The team and coaches made a stop in Russell County to assist with cleanup from tornado damage.

Players and coaches helped remove tree limbs and other debris from residences along John Street that were damaged by this past weekend’s tornado.

The team learned of the need through state emergency operations officials and volunteered to stop in for a few hours yesterday evening to pitch in.
