Girdler’s “moment of silence” bill passes committee, heads to full Senate

Last month, we reported on a bill sponsored by State Senator Rick Girdler that would require schools in Kentucky to have a moment of silence at the beginning of the day.

That bill passed through committee yesterday and will now go before the full senate.

Girdler, who represents Russell, Pulaski, Clinton, Cumberland, and Wayne counties, told WJRS News the bill is simple and does not require students to pray.

March 28 is the last day of the legislative session.
