Sheriff’s Office announces update in burglary case

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office released an update in the ongoing investigation into a break-in at a home under construction in the Esto community.

The sheriff’s office located the vehicle believed to be involved in the burglary and arrested 45-year-old Joshua Broughton of Indiana on charges of burglary third degree and public intoxication in connection with the burglary.

Several tools were stolen from the home under construction.

Sheriff Derek Polston said more arrests are forthcoming in the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s office at 270-343-2191 or Russell County Dispatch at 270-343-6600.
