The Lady Laker Basketball team dropped a close one at home Friday night to district foe Monroe County by a score of 48-45.
Playing without leading scorer Aniyah Coffey, the Lady Lakers trailed by 9 going into the fourth quarter but fell short against the Lady Falcons, falling to 6-8 on the season and 1-2 in district play.
Rachel Bolin led Russell County with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Karley Luttrell finished with 10 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Addy Abrell added 9 points for the Lady Lakers.
The Lady Lakers are back in action tomorrow, weather-permitting, as they are set to host Hart County.
