Fatal collision in Somerset leaves one dead

A collision early this morning in Pulaski County resulted in a Somerset man dying.

Reports are 71-year-old Danny Clay Jasper of Somerset was operating a pickup truck on Highway 27 just before 6:30 local time this morning when he crashed into a tractor-trailer near the intersection of an access road used by Kentucky Hardwood Lumber Company.

The tractor-trailer was reportedly pulling out from the access road and attempting to cross Highway 27 when Jasper’s truck struck the tractor-trailer. Jasper was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured in the collision.
