A collision on West Highway 80 this morning sent two people to Russell County Hospital.
According to Russell Springs Police, the collision occurred at around 8 a.m. near the intersection of West Highway 80 and Jamestown Street when a 2013 Dodge Avenger operated by 65-year-old Cheryl Brooks of Russell Springs turned onto Highway 80 from Jamestown Street into the path of a 2008 Ford Fusion traveling eastbound operated by 21-year-old Kennedi Cooper, also of Russell Springs.
Police say Cooper’s vehicle came to rest on the shoulder of the westbound lane and Brooks’ vehicle drove off into the ditch at the intersection. Brooks was taken by ambulance to Russell County Hospital and Cooper was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Brooks was alter flown out from Russell County Hospital.
Russell Springs Police is in charge of the investigation.
