The Russell County Ambulance Service Board held a special-called meeting this week where the board unanimously approved to terminate director Robert Baugh, effective immediately.
Baugh served as the director for Russell County EMS since 2022, being named as the interim director following the resignation of former director Michael Reynolds in January of that year.
WJRS News is told the decision to terminate Baugh was not a sudden decision by the board, but has been coming for a while.
A special-called meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the EMS building to select an interim director. In the meantime, WJRS News is told Matthew Kimbler is assuming leadership duties at EMS.
