Russell County Schools Academic teams need an overhaul, that according to Superintendent Michael Ford.
Ford told school board members earlier this week that academic teams in the county, especially at the three elementary schools, needed to be revamped and re-organized.
In discussing his concern over the academic teams, Ford requested approval from the board to hire an Academic Team Coordinator who would serve the entire school district.
Ford said the position would be a stipend position, meaning the person hired would receive money over and above his or her salary.
The board approved the request, although no timetable was set for the hiring.
