A farmer working in a corn field Wednesday morning reportedly found a stolen firearm, which is part of an investigation being conducted by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the stolen rifle was located a little before noon yesterday in a corn field off Half Acre Road. It’s the second stolen gun found in the area over the last couple months, according to law enforcement.
The gun was entered as stolen and is part of an ongoing investigation. The sheriff’s department says if anyone has any information about recent burglaries or stolen weapons, contact them at 270-343-2191. Callers providing tips will remain anonymous.
