The Jamestown Fire Department was called out yesterday afternoon to a house fire on Sticks Road off Highway 619.
Firefighters were called out at around 2 p.m. yesterday. Once there, firefighters encountered a two-story home on fire, and the Russell Springs Fire Department was called in to assist.
Fire crews were on scene for about six hours battling the blaze, according to Jamestown Fire Chief Jeff Landers. Despite the effort of more than 20 firefighters on scene, the house was a total loss.
Russell County EMS and South Kentucky RECC also responded to the scene, along with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office and the American Red Cross.
The home belonged to Raymond and Marilyn Hannan of Jamestown. No injuries were reported from the blaze.
