KSP releases statement on Clinton County shooting investigation

Kentucky State Police Post 15 has released information regarding a fatal shooting that took place in Clinton County over the weekend.

State Police say they were requested by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office to respond to a residence on Wolf River Dock Road just after 11:30 Saturday night in regard to a shooting that had taken place.

State police say the preliminary investigation revealed that 51-year-old Wesley Russell of Albany, and his wife, 48-year-old Mary Russell had been involved in a domestic violence incident.

Wesley was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Clinton County Coroner’s Office. Mary was transported to the Clinton County Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Detective Zach Scott is leading the investigation for Kentucky State Police.
