God’s Food Pantry of Russell County took the first step toward a major expansion this week with a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the organization’s new facility on Brian Walters Drive.
According to representatives with God’s Food Pantry, the plan is for the new facility to be nearly 1,500 square feet, almost triple the size of the current facility located on Dan Street in Russell Springs.
God’s Food Pantry of Russell County board member Jamie Lee told WJRS News the organization was excited to break ground on the new facility.
Lee spoke to WJRS News more about the community support behind the food pantry.
The new facility will allow more room for storage and parking, as well as a more centralized location being near the middletown area.
