A Russell Springs man died as a result of a fatal car wreck last Thursday in Somerset.
According to Somerset Police, 72-year-old Jose Fuentes-Jimenz was killed in a wreck at the intersection of KY 914 and old KY 80 in Somerset last Thursday at around 12:45 CT.
Fuentes-Jimenz was a passenger in a 2020 Chevy Colorado operated by 20-year-old Leonardo Jimenez-Herrera, also of Russell Springs.
The truck was traveling on KY 914 was attempting to make a left turn onto Highway 80 when it was struck by a 2011 Kenworth semi operated by 44-year-old Eric Miller of Liberty.
Fuentes-Jimenz was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Jimenez-Herra was flown by helicopter to a hospital for treatment of multiple injuries, according to Somerset Police.
The accident is under investigation by the Somerset Police Department.
