Collision claims the life of Adair County man

A collision on Friday claimed the life of an Adair County man.

According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision on South Highway 61 Friday in which a 2007 Kia passenger car operated by 81-year-old Freddie Loy was attempting a left turn onto Highway 768 when he turned into the path of a 2020 Toyota Camry operated by 39-year-old Chasity Wooten.

Loy was transported to TJ Health Columbia by Adair EMS where he was pronounced deceased by the Adair County Coroner’s Office.

Wooten was transported by Adair EMS to TJ Health of Columbia for treatment of her injuries .

The Adair County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.
