A Russell County man arrested more than a year ago on child pornography charges was recently sentenced to 30 years in federal prison in Texas.
Edward Lee Wheeler, age 27, entered a guilty plea in federal court last year following an investigation that he was communicating with a 13-year-old in Texas that was a relative of his wife, who was living in Texas at the time as well.
Wheeler’s wife, 35-year-old Jessica Roxanna Wheeler of Lubbock, Texas, was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison on child pornography charges.
According to court documents, Edward Wheeler engaged in sexual acts with the child and was in possession of explicit images of the child.
Documents state that Edward even discussed impregnating the child with his wife and selling the infant to a European medical testing agency for $42 million.
The child is currently living out of state and the attorney’s office says she is receiving psychological care.
