Laker Baseball team falls on the road at Somerset

The Russell County Lakers Baseball team jumped out to an early 5-0 lead on the road at Somerset last night, but the Briar Jumpers rallied in the bottom of the 7th inning, scoring four runs including a walk-off hit to give Somerset the win.

Nathan Lawson got the start for the Lakers, pitching six innings, giving up six runs on six hits and striking out nine. Aiden Antle took the loss for the Lakers, pitching 1/3 of an inning, giving up one run on two hits.

Lawson hit a homerun and drove in two runs for the Lakers. Evan Hammond, Noah Hadley, and CJ Vonfumetti drove in one run each for the Lakers.

The Lakers are now 18-5 on the season. They have the day off today before playing a doubleheader on Saturday against LaRue County and South Warren.
