Laker Swim Team hosts Laker Sprint Meet

The Laker Swim Team hosted several teams at their annual (although delayed) Laker Sprint Meet on Saturday. The swimmers dawned newly designed “DO IT FOR DEB” swim caps in honor of our beloved Coach Debbie Loy who we lost in the fall.

The Laker Swimmers swam to a 2nd Place Finish, only behind annual powerhouse Elizabethtown. The captains (Max Lawson, Emma Rae Phillips, Camryn Woodrum, & Dawson Haydon) accepted the award for the team.

Max Lawson(68 Points) had finishes of 1st (Backstroke), 3rd (Breaststroke, Freestyle, & IM).

Emma Rae Phillips(62 Points) place 5th (Backstroke), 2nd (Breaststroke), 3rd (Freestyle), & 4th (IM)

Gaby Alvizo (52 Points) had a top 5 finish in Butterfly

Jacob Phillips (12 Points) had a top 10 finish in Butterfly.

Alexa Stephens(8 Points) had a top 10 finish in Breaststroke.

The 200 Breaststroke relay of Camryn Woodrum, Ally Stephens, Alvizo, and Phillips were winners.

Camyrn Woodrum (24 Points) had a top 10 in Breaststroke & became the 4th Lady Laker Swimmer to join the Laker Swim 1000 Point Club!

The Laker Swimmers showed their might as they captured multiple high point awards for the meet also.

Jacob Phillips – 7th Grade Boy High Points

Alexa Stephens – 8th Grade Girl High Points

Emma Rae Phillips – Senior Girl High Points

Max Lawson – Senior Boy High Points

The Lakers Swim & Dive Team will be back in action on Thursday, February 11th, as they host Barren County & Allen County Scottsville.
