120-Unit Hotel Development Planned for Russell Springs

A new, 120-unit hotel development is planned for Russell Springs, following an agreement between the city and a Bowling Green-based development group.

Jeramy Coffey, economic development director for the City of Russell Springs, talked with WJRS NEWS about the project and its dual-lodging concept.

The development will include a Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Candlewood Suites, featuring extended-stay rooms with kitchenettes and other amenities.

Coffey says securing a nationally recognized lodging facility has been a long process. Although the effort has been several years in the making, he says the project “came together just last week.”

Coffey also outlined the city’s investment and the anticipated schedule for beginning and completing construction.

The new lodging facility will be built adjacent to Five Star and the Shogun restaurant currently under construction, just off the Cumberland Parkway in Russell Springs.
