Kentucky lawmakers are continuing their work in Frankfort during the General Assembly’s 2026 interim period.
The interim runs from June 1st through December 1st and allows legislative committees to study issues, hear testimony from officials and stakeholders, and begin developing proposals that could be considered during the next regular session. Meetings are scheduled throughout the fall on topics ranging from education and transportation to health care, economic development and state government.
On Thursday, State Representative Josh Branscum of Russell Springs participated in a meeting of the Interim Joint Committee on Economic Development and Workforce Investment.
Branscum commented during a presentation on the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Housing Report.
The committee also received an update on efforts to connect young Kentuckians with employment opportunities. Presenters included representatives of the Kentucky Chamber, KentuckianaWorks and the Cumberlands Workforce Development Board.
