Russell County Middle School Names New Principal

Russell County Schools has announced the selection of a new principal for Russell County Middle School.

Superintendent Michael Ford announced that Mrs. Sarah Aaron has been selected to lead the school following a thorough selection process conducted by the Russell County Middle School Site-Based Decision Making Council.

Aaron has served as assistant principal at Russell County Middle School since July 2024. Prior to that role, she spent four years teaching mathematics at RCMS after beginning her education career as a math teacher with Clinton County Schools.

According to Superintendent Ford, Aaron brings experience in instructional leadership, school improvement planning, student services, teacher mentoring, assessment, special education processes, and building strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.

Ford said Aaron is committed to building on the progress Russell County Middle School has made in academics, school culture, and school climate while ensuring every decision places students first.

The superintendent also thanked the Russell County Middle School Site-Based Decision Making Council for its dedication and hard work throughout the selection process, saying its members were committed to conducting a thorough and thoughtful search.

Ford said he is confident Aaron will continue supporting students, staff, and families while building on the positive momentum and strong traditions of Russell County Middle School.
