A Liberty man is facing multiple charges following a Sunday night traffic stop in Russell County.
According to the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 9:55 p.m., Deputy Devin Blakey stopped a vehicle just north of Russell Springs after reportedly observing the vehicle’s taillights repeatedly going on and off.
During the investigation, deputies determined the driver, 33-year-old David Jones of Liberty, was operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, along with items of drug paraphernalia.
Jones was arrested and charged with driving on a DUI-suspended license, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to produce an insurance card, no tail lamps, and failure to or improper signal.
He was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
