Russell County Hospital has its new security officer.
After a lengthy search, Johnny Dial of Columbia has been hired to serve as a security officer as part of the Russell County Sheriff’s Office and stationed at Russell County Hospital.
Dial was sworn-in yesterday afternoon. Russell County Hospital CEO Scott Thompson said he’s excited for Dial to officially assume his role, and said the hospital is looking at other avenues to add another security officer.
This position was hired through a federal COPS grant in partnership with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office. In addition to a previous stint with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Dial also previously served with the Columbia Police Department.
