The Russell County Farm Bureau is recognizing outstanding local students and educators for their achievements and commitment to agriculture education.
Lindsay McFarland, a kindergarten teacher at Salem Elementary School, has been named the 2026 Russell County Farm Bureau Ag Literacy Award Winner. McFarland was also selected as the recipient of the 2026 Russell County Farm Bureau Mini Grant Award.
Farm Bureau officials praised McFarland for her dedication to bringing agriculture into the classroom and helping young students learn about the important role farming plays in their daily lives.
In addition, the Russell County Farm Bureau announced its 2026 Scholarship Award recipients. This year’s scholarship winners are Blane Smith, Natalie Bartrug, Allie Wilkerson, and Marlei Devore.
The Russell County Farm Bureau extends its congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients and thanks them for their commitment to education, agriculture, and the future of Russell County
