A major fishing tournament on Lake Cumberland gets underway this week.

The High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship officially gets underway tomorrow with registration at Russell County High School with fishing on Lake Cumberland beginning Wednesday.

Tourism Director Danielle Wilson was recently a guest on Community Conversation on WJRS and spoke about the upcoming event.

The event is expected to bring around 500 anglers to Lake Cumberland with thousands of visitors expected to join as well.
