Here are important upcoming dates to know for this fall’s general election, courtesy of the Russell County Clerk’s Office.

September 19, 2026 – Mail-in Absentee Ballot Request Portal Opens
October 5, 2026 – Last Day to Register to Vote for the General
October 20, 2026 – Mail-in Absentee Ballot Request Portal Closes
- United States Postal Service recommends voters place completed mail-in absentee ballots in the mail no later than October 27, 2026.
October 21-23, 2026 – Excused, In-person Absentee Voting (@Clerk’s Office)
October 26-28, 2026 – Excused, In-person Absentee Voting (@Clerk’s Office)
October 29-31, 2026 – In-Person No Excuse Absentee Voting (@RECC)
November 3, 2026 – General Election Day!
