Drought Conditions Persist Across the Area

Local drought conditions have seen little improvement, according to the latest data from the U.S. Drought Monitor.

A small portion of Russell county has now moved back into the moderate drought category. However, the vast majority of the county remains in either the extreme drought or severe drought category.

All of Casey County remains in the extreme drought category. Extreme drought also exists in portions of Adair, Pulaski, and Wayne counties.
