Russell County had the lowest unemployment rate in the Lake Cumberland area in the month of March.
The Kentucky Center for Statistics reports Russell County had an unemployment rate of 4.3 percent in March. Cumberland County and Adair County had the next lowest rate at 4.5 percent.
Elsewhere around the area, Casey County was at 4.7 percent and Pulaski at 4.8 percent. Clinton County came in at 5.5 percent and Wayne County reported the highest unemployment rate in the area at 6.5 percent.
Russell County’s unemployment rate dropped 1.1 percent from the same time last year.
