The filing deadline for candidates planning to run for non-partisan offices is just a week away.
Candidates have until next Tuesday, June 2 to file for offices such as mayor or city council in Russell Springs and Jamestown or school board.
Currently, two candidates have filed to run for Mayor in Russell Springs: incumbent Eddie Thomas and Cody Wilson.
Four sitting Russell Springs City Council members have filed for reelection: Sherry Daniel, Gary Frost, Timmy Hudson, and Ricky Barnes.
In Jamestown, three candidates have filed to run for Mayor: Barry Coffey, Dwight Richards, and Brian Young.
One candidate has filed to run for city council in Jamestown: Jared Roy.
Richard “Dick” Kazsuk, the sitting school board representative for District 4, has also filed for reelection.
The school board seat in District 2, currently held by Eric Selby, will also be up for election in November.
Candidates have until 4 p.m. on June 2 to file their paperwork with the county clerk’s office.
