Beshear announces funding to resurface Clifty Creek Road

Russell County is set to receive nearly $150,000 to resurface Clifty Creek Road.

Governor Andy Beshear announced Russell County is one of three counties to receive funding through the Rubber-Modified Asphalt program. The program is operated through the Division of Waste Management. The program uses rubber-modified asphalt, created in part from recycled waste tires.

Russell County used the material last summer to pave Crocus Road.

As part of the program, each participating county also resurfaces a comparable road with conventional materials. This allows state officials to track the performance of the rubber-modified asphalt over time.
