Somerset man indicted on kidnapping, child abuse charges

A Somerset man has been indicted on multiple charges, including kidnapping and child abuse.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said 24-year-old Davin Melton was charged with criminal abuse first degree – child under 12, kidnapping of an adult, stalking second degree and wanton endangerment first degree.

An investigation began last October after law enforcement officers received a complaint that Melton had allegedly abused a child. According to court documents, Melton allegedly held a knife to his wife’s throat while she held their infant child and unlawfully restrained her.

Melton was arrested without incident on the indictment warrant and lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center. However, he posted bond on the same day of his arrest.
