Former Russell County Public Library Director Lindsey Westerfield was recently recognized and honored with a special ceremony, dedicating the library’s community room in her honor.
The community room at the library is now known as the LBW Community Room, recognizing Westerfield’s impact on the library’s growth during her 14-year stint as Director.
Westerfield was joined by Library Director Cody Gabehart and members of the library board for the ceremony this week.
The library released the following statement about the dedication.
“It is our honor to officially announce the dedication and naming of the LBW Community Room. Through passion and integrity, Lindsey extended the reach and service of Russell County Public Library into the cornerstone of our community that it is today. It is only fitting that our Community Room bears the signature “LBW” that has concluded every page of our progress for the past fourteen years. We dedicate this room and the space it represents not only to the legacy that she has left in Russell County, but to the work she now carries forward with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, serving a much larger community that still very much includes ours.”
