Two Russell Springs residents were among those injured in a three-vehicle collision in Green County Tuesday morning.
Kentucky State Police say the collision happened a little after 9 a.m. on Highway 88 in Green County. They say a 14-year-old juvenile was traveling west on Highway 88 in a 2009 Subaru forester. The juvenile reportedly lost control of the vehicle in a curve, and crossed the center line, striking a bucket truck traveling eastbound.
After colliding with the bucket truck, the juvenile’s vehicle then collided with a Ford F350 traveling eastbound operated by 31-year-old Willie Mosier of Cookeville, Tennessee. The F350 caught fire shortly after the collision, but Mosier was able to escape the vehicle before the fire spread.
The juvenile driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead at the scene by the Green County Coroner’s Office. Angelo Forsee, age 20 of Russell Springs, was a passenger in the Subaru and was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of injuries. One of the passengers, 28-year-old Jacob Mann of Russell Springs, was transported to TJ Samson Hospital and later taken to the University of Louisville. 32-year-old Adrian Crew of Columbia, were transported to TJ Samson Hospital.
No other injuries were reported from the collision.
The collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Post 15.
