The Russell County Board of Education voted to approve the creation of another agriculture teaching position, with plans to expand the agriculture program into the middle school.
This also comes as the school district plans to open the new SEED Academy in August.
Superintendent Michael Ford said the agriculture program is an important program and one that garners a lot of interest at the high school, and believes it would be beneficial to expand it to the middle school.
The board also approved a custodial position at the SEED Academy.
A motion was made by board member Joy Wilson to approve the new positions and seconded by Eric Selby. It was unanimously approved by the board.
