Air Methods to have helicopter, staff permanently stationed at Russell County Airport

Plans are in the works for Air Methods to have a medical helicopter and staff stationed permanently at Russell County Airport.

Russell County Judge Executive Randy Marcum said this has been in the works for a while and believes it will be a valuable asset to the community.

As of now, there is not a scheduled date for when Air Methods will open its Russell County location.

Air Methods is headquartered in Colorado and has been in operation for more than 45 years. They currently have six helicopter bases serving Kentucky and southern Indiana, including in Somerset and Glasgow.
