Kentucky’s annual legislative session gets underway today in Frankfort.

Today marks Day 1 of the 60-day legislative session, where the general assembly will be required to pass the state’s budget for the next two years as well as tackle other issues facing the commonwealth.

The legislature may consider another reduction to the state income tax, as well as address issues around childcare.

Both the house and senate are expected to gavel in at noon eastern time today.

The session is scheduled to end in mid-April.

We’ll bring you updates throughout the legislative session on different bills being proposed and their status.
