Information about new CASA program to be presented at library next Tuesday

A new CASA, or Court-Appointed Special Advocates, program is starting in Russell and Wayne counties.

Family Court Judge Jennifer Upchurch Edwards and new director Lisa Coffey were guests on Community Conversation on WJRS yesterday. Edwards provided a glimpse into what she wants the CASA program to look like locally.

Coffey said those interested in being involved with the CASA program and learning more about what it entails are invited to an event at the Russell County Public Library next Tuesday from 3:30-5:30.

Including Russell and Wayne counties, CASA is now in more than 100 of Kentucky’s 120 counties.
