Two taken to hospital by private vehicle after wreck at Webb’s Crossroads

Two people were taken to the hospital by private vehicle following a two-vehicle collision near Webb’s Crossroads earlier today.

According to the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred at around 11:00 this morning. They say 22-year-old Pedro Perez of Russell Springs was operating a Chevy Equinox turning west out of a driveway onto Highway 76 when he turned into the path of a Chevy Cruze traveling east on Highway 76 operated by a 17-year-old female.

Perez and the 17-year-old driver each were taken by private vehicle to the hospital to be examined for possible injuries.

The sheriff’s office said Perez was cited for driving without a license and negligence in an accident due to operating a vehicle without a license.

Deputy Matt Parrish was the investigating officer. He was assisted on scene by Deputy Nathan Bradshaw, members of the Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Russell County EMS.
