Sheriff’s Office releases November activity report

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office responded to 488 calls during the month of November.

According to the department’s monthly activity report, sheriff’s deputies made 50 arrests last month, performed 159 traffic stops, and responded to 19 traffic accidents.

Deputies responded to 7 domestic calls, 26 motorist assists, 2 alarm calls, and 10 animal complaints.

The sheriff’s office also responded to 28 requests for a deputy, 4 shots fired calls, 17 suspicious person complaints, and 12 welfare checks.

Deputies served 115 court papers and provided 4 mental health transports.

The sheriff’s office reported 206 vehicle inspections and 15 concealed carry permits issued.

The sheriff’s office collected just under $1.3 million in property taxes during the month of November.
