Salem Elementary seeing improvement in reading and math scores

The administration and teachers at Salem Elementary School have been heavily focused for the last couple years on improving the school’s reading and math scores on the annual state assessment.

Recently-released data from last year’s state assessment shows that effort is producing results.

The school received a green rating –the second highest rating possible — for its reading and math scores.

Salem Elementary Principal K.J. Webb was a guest on Community Conversation to discuss the school’s results.

Salem Elementary earned an overall yellow rating from last year’s state assessment. That is the middle rating of the five color categories used by the state.
