A well-known landmark on the Russell County High School/Middle School campus is set to be demolished next week.
The middle school band room will be torn down, along with some other buildings no longer in use on the campus.
Russell County Band Director Curtis Ervin said the building holds a lot of memories for people in the community, particularly alumni of the Laker Band.
There will be an opportunity for people to come by tomorrow for an open-house style event. Ervin said this will be open to the public and will give people an opportunity to see the old band room one more time before it is torn down next week.
Again, the band room will be open from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow for anyone who would like to come by.
