The Laker Basketball team picked up a district win over the Metcalfe County Hornets on the road last night.
The Lakers defeated the Hornets behind big-time performances from the duo of Dylan Stanelle and Maddox Shearer.
Stanelle finished with 33 points on the night, and Shearer scored 24, with each knocking down 4 three-pointers in the win.
Noah McMillin added 13 points for the Lakers, and Max Davis finished with 10.
The Lady Lakers fell to the Lady Hornets by a score of 42-31.
Aniyah Coffey had a double-double, with 11 points and 12 rebounds. McKenna Ccamaque also scored 11 points for the Lady Lakers.
The Lakers and Lady Lakers will be in action again tomorrow, as Russell County hosts Clinton County for a district doubleheader at Laker Gym.
